Boomtown Days 2012 are coming on Saturday, April 21 & Sunday, April 22

Dunnellon mining town roots will be celebrated April, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd, with food, crafts, music and much more. Dunnellon celebrates its history as a mining town each year during Boomtown Days.


The weekend will be filled with Arts & Crafts, a festival of music, food, and Antique Car Show. About 125 crafts displays will line Dunnellon’s beautiful tree lined Historic District on W. Pennsylvania Avenue & Cedar Street, which will be closed to vehicle traffic.

A beauty pageant to crown the Queen of the Rainbow will be held on Sunday afternoon and Little Mister and Miss Dunnellon 2012 Pageant will be held on Saturday afternoon.


The 2012 Queen of the Rainbow Pageant applications are now available. Females ages 15-20 are encouraged to participate in this Boomtown tradition. The pageant will take place Sunday, April 22nd. Prizes include trophies, tiaras, cash prizes, flowers, and more!

Applications are available at the Chamber of Commerce and in the front office of Dunnellon High School. The applications are due to the Dunnellon Chamber of Commerce by Friday March 4th at 3pm. Little Mister and Miss Dunnellon 2012 Pageant applicants must be between the ages of 5 through 7. Birthday must fall on or before the day of the event. A great chance to get your child involved in the community. Lots of fun and prizes. Winners will receive a crown, trophy & a Walmart gift card. Please encourage your children, nieces, nephews and friends to join us in making this a great pageant.
